This gorgeously opulent pencil case is a stunning reproduction of British bindery Sangorski & Sutcliffe's ca.1875 cover for a collection of poems by the celebrated 14th-century Persian poet Háfiz̤ of Shíráz.
The original bookbinding, a rare copy of which is housed in The Huntington's library collection, is made of Moroccan red leather and embellished with opals, pearls, and gold leaf.
The spacious main compartment holds many pens or pencils, and the removable small compartment is perfect for erasers and other accessories.
